Virtue RF is a platform from the Korean company ShenB, combining microcrack technology with radio wave energy. Sterile thin needles create microtubules in the skin that stimulate the process of collagen and elastin production. They also introduce radio frequency heat to the skin, to the selected depth (this parameter is adjusted to the patient's needs). The radio wave raises the temperature of the tissues in the deeper layers of the skin and thus intensively tightens and firms it.

Microneedle radiofrequency: effects of the procedure

The main results of the Virtue RF treatment are the smoothing of wrinkles, the reduction of acne scars, the reduction of pores and the firmness of flabby skin. The first results are visible immediately after the end of the procedure, since the thermal action of the radio wave leads to an immediate shrinkage of collagen fibers. However, the full results of microneedle radiofrequency are observed after about 3 months, because that's how long the process of creating new collagen structures takes, ie remodeling of the skin. Thanks to the stimulation of collagen and elastin production, the skin becomes visibly firmer and younger.

For best results, the treatment should be repeated (in 3-5 sessions depending on the problem and expectations).

Microneedle radiofrequency: before and after

The procedure does not require special preparation on the appointed day. However, 2 weeks before the appointment, the patient should avoid retinol and exfoliating acids. If he uses treatments with botulinum toxin or fillers, he must wait about 2-4 weeks.

The parameters of the procedure are adjusted to the needs of the patient: the depth of the punctures is selected in a wide range, from 0.1 to 3.5 mm. The Smart RF head is completed with a sterile, disposable cartridge. Comfort is provided to the patient by a pulsed radio wave mode of operation and a cooling system of the head, which prevents the effect of overheating of the skin (the procedure does not carry the risk of burns).

Microneedle radiofrequency: contraindications

We have prepared a full list of contraindications later on this page, but these include, among others, pregnancy and lactation, cancers, viral diseases (e.g. herpes), bacterial and fungal diseases, acute skin inflammation and active dermatological changes.

Despite the rapid return to everyday life after radiofrequency, it is also necessary to avoid certain activities (e.g. swimming pool, sauna, sunbathing), invasive treatments or irritating cosmetics - this may require reorganizing plans for the next dozen days.

However, microneedle radiofrequency is a much less invasive procedure than aesthetic medicine treatments such as needle mesotherapy, for which it can be an alternative.
